Research activities

Physical and chemical characterisation of environmental tobacco smoke (ETS) and short-term and long-term impacts of ETS on human comfort and well-being.

Effectiveness of various engineering procedures to remove or reduce tobacco smoke indoors, e.g. particle filtration or air washing.

Characterisation of indoor air pollution sources in the form of building materials and HVAC components. Acting as technical/scientific secretary of the Danish research program entitled "Healthy buildings" and as technical coordinator of a European research project "European data base on indoor air pollution sources in buildings".

Comparative studies of discomfort caused by indoor air pollution, thermal climate and noise.
